WHAT a wonderful surprise I had when I received my Bugle. I never thought for one moment you would give my story about my dear Dad Samuel Skidmore and the First World War a whole page in The Bugle (February 27 edition).
I've already had phone calls and I feel so proud.
One person said: "Could I have your autograph?" Then we both laughed.
To me that's what The Bugle is all about, bringing people together with their memories of days gone by.
I'm 88 years old and sometimes I wonder how my brain remembers so many things about when I was small, having four brothers and a Mom and Dad who were lovely. I have already asked my daughter to get me extra copies of The Bugle to send to friends living away.
I could go on writing for ever but I really do want to say how much I appreciated page 5 in The Bugle. Thank you.
