My wife and I had happy hours riding on our B.S.A bike

IN response to the article by Pete Cole in The Bugle (May 22 edition), I too bought a motorbike off Arthur Webb, of Bridge Street, Oldbury.

I bought my B.S.A. 350 B32 spring and arm, reg YRF 490 in 1959 for £85. Shortly after, I met my wife of 53 years while working at Parkes sweet factory. Pictured above is the said bike with me and my wife on it. I had it for about five or six years, then changed to cars instead.

I knew of Sam and his brother, as my wife's aunt lived next door to his business at the bottom of Bridge Street, Oldbury.

We had many happy hours on this bike, going to different places doing miles and miles. Happy days. The photograph was taken at Wassell Grove Caravan Site, Hagley, our first home in 1961. It is now Hagley Golf Course.
