ONE of the Bugle's greatest strengths is its ability to put people in touch with each other, forging links between readers with a common interest.

Terry Church, historian, local author and regular contributor, appealed recently through our letters pages, for a photograph of Kingswinford Wanderers FC, and was delighted when he received a response from Barbara Jones of Wordsley.

Mrs Jones has supplied Terry (and the Bugle) with a picture that was probably taken in the early 1950s. Terry tells us:

"The location was probably Kingswinford Park in Water Street, although Mrs Jones thinks that it may have been taken on MacMaster's Field in Stream Road, now the site of Stream Road Methodist Church.

"We can only identify two of the players: front row, second right is Reg Buckland, and the player with the ball is Major Reynolds.".

Can you help with the names of the other members of the Wanderers team? If so we'd love to hear from you; give us a call, write in, pay us a visit in Cradley Heath, or email gjones@black countrybugle.co.uk.
