I thinkWest Bromwich inventor was a relative

I ENCLOSE a photograph of a steam yacht invention by William Cartwright of Dartmouth Street, West Bromwich, at the West Bromwich wakes of 1894.

My cousin Margaret Wooldridge married Bernard Adams, both of Dial Lane and both now deceased.

The photograph came in two sacks of old photos via Bernard's relatives. My grandmother Lucy Hayes was a Cartwright, formerly from around Ebenezer Street where I was born and the Cartwrights were a very enterprising family.

For instance the Hill Top Labour & Social Club was masterminded by Tommy Cartwright, my grandmother's brother, so William may have been related. If this was not the case no doubt your readers will tell the full story.

Please could any readers contact me so I can give more details on 01253 730834.

Keep up the good work with The Bugle.
