PHIL Male, of Pershore, Worcs, thought Bugle readers would be interested in these photographs taken inside Stourbridge locomotive shed in the summer of 1966, just prior to closure of steam operations from the depot.

The photographs were taken by Stourbridge train driver Clifford Totney who lived in Harrison Road, Wordsley, at the time.

ABOVE: Tank loco 9614, with two Class 8F locos numbered 48459 and 48628. RIGHT: A side view of 48628.

Phil added: "I myself was a fireman at the depot in the mid 1960's. The depot closed completely for steam operations from July 11, 1966, but continued with diesel operations."
