I started work at Salter's when I was 14 years old

FOLLOWING all the articles and letters on Salter's I am writing to tell you I worked there at the age of 14 years for two years.

Later on I worked there from the age of 19 to 21, with my sister Joan, whom I sadly lost at the age of 28 years old. I still have a book, Salter News, dated 1953. I don't suppose there are many of these about?

In there is a photograph of our works dance, pictured above. I am on the fourth row in a white blouse.

Another photograph from the book, pictured below, is Phil Drabble who used to do the Walk the Dog series on BBC2.

I worked at the Dart Spring after I left Salter's for the Arthur Griffin Company and Taperd Springs where I saw famous stars such as Harry Secombe, Joe Loss and Billy Cotton.

Miss Lily Phillips,

30 Anson Road,

Harvills Hawthorn,

Hill Top,

West Bromwich.
