I had a special visitor after Bugle printed my WW1 article

AS a result of The Bugle printing my article about my dad in World War One, I had phone calls and one very special visit.

My late cousin's husband, John Crumpton, who is a regular reader, visited me and gave me what I now know was The Widow's Penny.

Because I was born a Skidmore he thought it would be nice for me to have it. I am proud to own it as my father's brother was killed in the Great War and it has his name – William Arthur Skidmore – printed on it.

I'm sure John would love to see my thank you printed in The Bugle. I had not seen him for many years. His late wife's mother was my dad's sister – Ivy Skidmore.

Mary Hackett,

(nee Skidmore),

11 St Giles Close, Rowley Regis.
