AS a member of the Salonika Campaign Society (see http://www.salonikacampaignsociety.org.uk/) I was delighted to read the story of Gunner William Arnold in The Bugle (May 29 issue).

I have been on several battlefield tours covering Thessaloniki and Doiran organised by Salonika Campaign Society chairman Alan Wakefield.

We always visit the Allied cemetery at Doiran and the nearby memorial to British troops of the British Salonika Force who have no known grave on a hill overlooking the lake on the Greek side of the FYROM border.

I attach a photograph from last year's visit.

I hope to be back out there next year, probably in May if there is a spring visit.

I will make a point of looking out Gunner William's grave at Doiran cemetery.

Hope this is of some interest to The Bugle readers.
