RE the letter in The Bugle (June 26 edition) and the subsequent article in the paper (July 10 edition) about the Beatles and asking how they left The Plaza in Old Hill after their concert.

The Beatles did come across the roof and down a ladder.

My mate John Neale and myself had just left the show.

We stopped to watch a man putting up a ladder. He called us to hold the ladder as the Beatles came down, and each one said: "Thanks mate" as they reached the footpath.

They got into the back of a car and drove off.

We had to run to catch the bus to Dudley, and then to Wolverhampton as we both lived at Parkfields at the time.

Mick Hanbury,

Lower Lodge Park,

Armitage, Staffs.
