RE Arthur Hale's letter regarding Alan Cobham's Flying Circus at the Mile Flat, Wall Heath, in The Bugle (March 27 edition).
I remember it well, and the 5 shillings (bob) rides.
I never knew anyone who had the ride though. It was an exciting show, the planes did loop the loop.
I am now 85 and always lived in Wall Heath until I moved to Kingswinford 52 years ago.
I also remember the small plane flying from a field in the Mile Flat when there was an election.
They flew over the village saying "Vote for Todd" on different coloured streamers, and "Vote for Henderson" on streamers trailing behind the plane.
I remember this, although it must have been around 1936-1938. Does anyone in Wall Heath remember it?
Kindest regards to all at The Bugle.
