CAN you name these railway men, pictured at Stourbridge Junction some time in the 1950s?

This is another photograph that belongs to John Taylor of Kidderminster but we have no clue as to who the engine driver and fireman were. They were quite likely working the service to Stourbridge Town.

The locomotive is number 1458, an ex-GWR 1400 class tank engine built at Swindon in 1935. The loco was based at Stourbridge Junction from 31 December, 1950, until 25 January, 1958, when it was transferred to Southall. It was eventually scrapped in February 1965.

Do you recognise either of the men? Contact dshaw@black countrybugle.co.uk or drop us a line at 41 High Street, Cradley Heath, B64 5HL.
