THE Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge has received a very generous donation from the Hospital Saturday Fund towards the purchase of new privacy screens to be used in the inpatient unit.

The Mary Stevens Hospice provides palliative care, symptom control and therapy for people living with life limiting illnesses as well as providing dedicated support for their families and carers. Due to the sensitive nature of their care, maintaining the privacy and dignity of their patients stands at the core of the hospice's mission.

John Randel, Hospital Saturday Fund Trustee, visited the hospice to present the cheque for £4,638, taking the opportunity to meet with Stevan Jackson, the hospice's CEO, and view the enhancements which are being made to the impatient unit.

They are due to be completed in the next few months.

Stevan Jackson, CEO at the Mary Stevens Hospice, said: "The Mary Stevens Hospice is extremely delighted to receive this generous donation that will help significantly in improving patient privacy and preserving dignity, two fundamentals of hospice care."

John Randel said: "The Hospital Saturday Fund supports worthy charities throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland and are pleased to support the work of The Mary Stevens Hospice."
