THIS photo of Mount Pleasant School, Quarry Bank, was taken round about 1966, when England won the World Cup.

This was the year we left primary school, and went to secondary school. Most went to Coppice Lane. It was different, one boys' school and one girls'.

The teacher was Mr Anslow, a great teacher. He loved sport, especially football and cricket. I had seven other brothers but only six went to that school.

Back row , from left, Teacher Mr Anslow, S. Thompson, C. McNally, P. Edwards, J. Turberville, R. Cox, M. Gill, P. Rudge.

Second row, from left, G. Hill, P. Tyler, D. Knot, R. Bate, J. Warrick, E. King, Diane, J. Greensmith, S. Wood, M. Ambrose, R. Hipkiss. Front row, from left, B. Genner, M. Hastings, C. Kendrick, L. Woodhouse, S. Pardoe, (?), S. Green, J. Raybould.
