BRIERLEY HILL Civic Hall will be turned into an Alpine village for five nights in early June, when Quarry Bank Musical Theatre Society stage Rogers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music.
The famous story of the Von Trapp family of singers, whose stern, widowed father eventually has his heart melted by his children's governess, has long been a favourite on film, and now the Quarry Bank group are ready to recreate it on a Black Country stage.
A large cast of singing performers is headed by Richard Cope as Captain Von Trapp, and Alex Detheridge as Maria. There will be two sets of Von Trapp children, performing on alternate nights.
The production will take place from June 3 to June 7, with performances beginning at 7.15pm. except for the Saturday 7 matinee at 2.15pm.
Ticket are priced £10 and £11, with concessions for under 16s. Family discounts are available.
