THE Old Claughtonians recently held their 50th anniversary reunion of the Class of 1963 since leaving the Sir Gilbert Claughton Grammar School, Dudley, and we wondered if any Bugle readers can beat that record?

It was held at the Himley House Hotel, Dudley, on November 23.

Pictured on the left hand side are Dave Cox, Gay Wellings, Eileen Hawkins (nee Shakespeare), Rosemary Murphy (nee Penson), Denise Irish (nee Healey), Roger Bent. On the right hand side are Andrea Rose (nee Tilley), Sylvia Lucas (nee James), Christine Glen (nee Wall), Jilly Rogers (nee Kennedy), Jenny Nicholls (nee Smith), Heather Gilling (nee Stanley), William Harwick, Jane Oseland (nee Hancox) and camera man John Taylor.

Incidentally, after seven years' hard work we have traced all the classmates from the Commerce O'level class of 1961/1963.

We arrange three reunions each year and we have a brilliant attendance for each one. In December, 2012 we arranged a visit to the Old Sir Gilbert Claughton School, which are now offices used by Dudley Council)

Is this a record – Classmates who left school 50 years ago who still meet and enjoy a reunion?

I do hope you can publish an article in the Black Country Bugle.

Regards.
