I HOPE this letter may be of interest to your readers.

With the centenary of the beginning of the First World War I know many people are taking a keen interest with many families across the nation having suffered during that dreadful conflict.

For ten years I have been involved with an organisation known as The War Graves Photographic Project.

We have, through volunteers worldwide, built up a collection of photographs of British and Commonwealth war dead headstones and memorials.

The images are of the dead of both world wars and other conflicts including those remembered in the UK. The organisation has on its website more than 1.7 million images from around the world with most countries covered.

This is with the approval of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

The website address is www.twgpp.org.uk and searches can be made by individual name or by the cemetery.

I hope this of interest.

A. Duncombe,
