AS a member of the Royal British Legion and WUEC I'm attending a full set of memorial services for all kinds of conflict this year, particularly some centred around WWII. We have some WWI ones on top or as part of some of these.
I am also taking part in various 1914 orientated events. To be honest, with all the saturation in the media as well, it's starting to become depressive.
I have a lot of respect for those who went and fought and those who stayed and kept the home fires burning, but it is getting a bit much. We have other events to commemorate, so I do agree with Robin Oliver's comments in his letter in The Bugle (July 24 edition).
