Wolverhampton trees tribute query

I BELIEVE that after World War One Wolverhampton Council planted 400 trees along the A4123 to commemorate the Fallen.

My questions are: 1. Is this true? 2. If so, how many of these trees still remain in situ? 3. Are there any plans to re-dedicate these trees? 4. And/or place plaques on these trees?

Mrs C. Tipper,

93 New Birmingham Road,

Tividale.
