I AM writing to say a big thank you to The Bugle and its readers for all their help.
I had been trying to trace a couple my husband and I had met while on holiday in Newquay, Cornwall, 57 years ago.
We had kept in correspondence for quite a number of years with them and then we lost their address and could not remember Alec and Eva's surname.
I knew they had lived in Willenhall for many years and that he was a barber and I had tried to find them without success.
Then I sent a letter and photograph, which appeared in The Bugle (July 24 edition), and two readers replied to me straightaway giving me the surname and the relevant information. I contacted Eva Pitt and I had a long phone conversation with her. It was good to be reunited again after all these years. I was overjoyed.
One reader, John Lowndes, of 42 Somerset Road, County Bridge, Willenhall, told me that sadly Alec Pitt had passed away ten years ago but Eva had recently celebrated her 90th birthday.
John took The Bugle with the letter and picture in to Eva who said she remembered it like yesterday.
I will always be very grateful to The Bugle, its editor, and the readers who so kindly wrote so quickly to me. Thank you again.
