RE the Royal British Legion Tipton Poppy Appeal.

On behalf on all our members and helpers who volunteered to give us a hand with the sale of poppies I would like to thank you so much in helping to raise the wonderful total of £26,675.50.

Of course, these thanks are extended to Asda stores at Wednesbury Oak Road, Tipton and Great Bridges and the Co-op, Tipton, for letting us sell from your stores.

Then there are all the schools, pubs, clubs, works, offices, shops, the ladies from Tipton, Great Bridge and St Mark's Road Libraries who spent hours knitting poppies and donating all proceeds to the Poppy Appeal.

Also thanks to ladies who had been knitting at home and donating the proceeds, Lloyds Bank, Great Bridge, for their help and of course the guard dog who escorted us to the bank.

I am so sorry I could not reply to all who offered help following an appeal but I did appreciate your offer and, when the next 2014/15 appeal comes we shall no doubt need help again.

Without the great team of people working with me it would have been impossible to reach this amount so I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, once again and God bless.

Poppy Organiser,
