TIPTON Library is pleased to announce the latest in this year's programme of popular local history talks and a special unveiling ceremony

Today ( Thursday, April 17) local historian DJ Nicholls will be dropping into the library to present an illustrated talk on the Zeppelin raids on Tipton and the Black Country in January 1916.

The raids were the subject of a recent opera Zeppelin Dreams at the Grand Theatre by English Touring Opera

The talk is free admission by advance ticket only and tickets can be reserved on 0121 557 1796.

A special unveiling ceremony will also be taking place at the start of the talk when the recently refurbished memorial boards will be unveiled by WW2 veterans and members of the local British Legion. The memorial boards feature the names of Tipton people who gave their lives in the Great War.
