THE next lecture arranged by the Black Country Society is at the Black Country Living Museum at Dudley on Wednesday, January 22 at 7.30pm.

Our current President, Dr Michael Hall, will talk on 'Francis Brett Young and the Black Country Nail Industry'. Michael has recently completed a book on this subject entitled In cramped and sooty caverns-the nail makers of Birmingham, Bromsgrove and the Black Country as depicted in the novels of Francis Brett Young.

Dr Hall will be supported by local historian Julian Hunt himself an expert on Halesowen history. Visitors are welcome. Entrance is £1.50 to include refreshments.

Dr Hall's book is published by the Black Country Society and will be launched at Quinton Methodist Church Hall on Saturday, February 22 at 10 30am. Further details can be obtained from myself on 01384 873279. Regards.

James Morgan,

The Black Country Society.
