Story reminded me of my West Bromwich 'Rocker' days

RAY Jame's story in The Bugle (May 8 edition) brought back many memories of my "Rocker" days in the 1960s.

I also owned a Gold Star DBD 34. I never got into top gear from West Bromwich to the Double Zero club in Birmingham and had to put a steel plate on my boot as the kickback on the "Goldie" was lethal! Slip the clutch in first gear, you bet! The Bridge Cafe in Stourport was a favourite haunt for our little crowd and of course Bridgnorth. Any ex-Double Zero members out there? Happy memories. I enclose a couple of photographs. ABOVE: I'm the blond chap to the right of centre at Digbeth in 1966. LEFT: My Goldie taken at rear of my parents' house in Beeches Road about 1967.
