Woman dies after being hit by car
A woman in her thirties has died from head injuries after a possible road rage attack.
The victim was carried along on the bonnet of a car, fell off and hit a Belisha beacon, one of the lights on a zebra crossing.
Police and ambulance crews were called to Barnet in north London shortly after 6.30pm on Monday but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers believe she had argued with another woman driver and got out of her car before she was hit and left injured in East Barnet Road.
The victim has not yet been formally identified but her family have been told. A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Wednesday.
A woman was arrested in Barnet in connection with the death and released on bail until April.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information can contact the incident room on 020 8247 7821 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
