Willenhall Road lads who did the double in 1930

THE photograph shown here has been kindly sent in to us by Mrs Jacqueline Southwick of Cradley, who tells us that it was found with others in the family home where her sister still lives, in Legge Street, Wolverhamptom.

Their father was Thomas Bogle, who served in the Second World War, and was born in Park Cottages, off the Willenhall Road.

They think that he may be one of the boys in the football team, taken at Willenhall Road School, season 1929/30.

Can anyone possibly confirm this, or name some of the other lads shown? A cup is proudly displayed on the left and a shield on the right, so this must have been a successful ‘double winning’ season for these lads.

We have another Willenhall Road team picture found at the same time, to share with readers in a near future edition.
