WE must thank Mr. B.F. Kelford of Edinburgh Drive, Rushall, Walsall, for sending in this photograph of 47 years vintage, showing a football team from Smethwick.
The photograph has covered a fair few miles just recently, having been brought back to these shores by Mr Kelford’s brother in law — John Porton — who has paid a visit back home, from USA, where he now resides.
Mr Kelford explains, “It is a pictiure of the Ravens Amateur Football Club, which John was associated with, in 1963. The Ravens were based in Smethwick and John is second from the left on the back row.
“We hope that the photo will bring back memories of nearly fifty years ago”.
