EVER helpful Bugle reader and football historian Terry Harrison has kindly sent in pictures of two footballers featured recently in our columns, who we hadn’t previously seen images of in their playing days, and we asked if anyone could oblige.
One shows John Aquaroff, the wartime player, and the other Lye-born Joe Scott. Terry writes of the latter...
“ One photo is of Joe Scott during the 1924-25 season when he played for Rotherham County.
The County became Rotherham United in 1925.
Joe Scott was born in Lye 6th July 1900 and died on 11th March 1962. He joined Rotherham County during December 1923 and joined Barnsley in March 1928”.
