Froome wins Tour of Oman
Team Sky's Chris Froome wrapped up victory at the Tour of Oman ahead of Alberto Contador on Saturday.
The Great Britain Olympian, second in last summer's Tour de France, held a 27-second lead going into the final stage and finished in the leading bunch in a sprint finish to make sure of the red jersey.
Froome had sprung to the head of the field with victory on stage five on Friday, following consistent displays throughout the week up to that point.
Francais Des Jeux rider Nacer Bouhanni won Saturday's 144-kilometre stage from Hawit Nagam Park to Matrah Corniche, with Orica GreenEDGE's Matthew Goss second and American Taylor Phinney third for BMC Racing.
Froome's winning margin over Team Saxo-Tinkoff's Contador remained at 27 seconds, with Cadel Evans 12 seconds further back for BMC.
Bradley Wiggins, who won last year's Tour de France ahead of team-mate Froome, was back in 74th position.
