Fairer sex who dished up the the cricket 'tays'

ONE ESSENTIAL of any good game of cricket is the tea, invariably served up by the wives and partners of the blokes out in the field.

Tea is served!
Tea is served!

That was certainly the case when this photograph was taken back in circa 1957, when tea was prepared within a marquee for the those taking part in a cricket match for Quasi Arc a Bilston.

There was an array of cobs, sausage rolls and fruit neatly laid out on the trestle table, together with a barrel of Butler’s beer. Beautiful! This picture is another from the collection of John Grice of Ettingshall Park, who supplied one of the Quasi Arc cricket team a few weeks back.

He names two of the ladies, plus the young girl (see caption on left). Can anyone name the rest?
