An Edwardian Dog Licence from Wednesbury

THESE days we don't even need one, but it's only been a few short years since anyone who wanted the company of a four legged friend had to fork out for an official document.

And they weren't cheap over a hundred years ago. This rare example of a Dog Licence dates from June 1910, and entitled a J.W. Wright of Walsall Road in Wednesbury to keep ONE DOG up until the end of the year, for 7s 6d; at which point he would have to shell out for another one.
