Businesses across the Black Country are being urged to help build the biggest bonfire in the region – by donating pallets to the famous Himley bonfire.
The Himley fireworks and bonfire display attracts thousands of people every year and is the largest run event of its type in the country.
The popular event takes place on Saturday, November 9, and features a stunning firework display and towering bonfire.
Dudley Council is now appealing for unbroken wooden pallets to build the huge centrepiece on the night.
Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said, “Every year we have tremendous support from local businesses who donate hundreds of pallets to us. This support is key in making the event the success it is. This really is a community built bonfire.”
The council can only take wooden pallets and are not able to use garden rubbish, tree trunks or old furniture.
Anyone wanting to donate pallets and are able to deliver them to Himley Hall can call 01384 817817.
