Old Bilston Market's carnation plants were cut above rest

ON page 15 of The Bugle (May 22 edition), you printed a picture of the old Market Hall situated on the corner of Church Street and Vine Street.

I well remember the old market before it was demolished.

When you entered the side door a stall on the right was a plant stall where I bought my favourite flowers, carnations.

For a number of years I had a wonderful display of carnations in my garden.

But later on I never found anyone anywhere who supplied carnation cuttings to equal those sold in the old Bilston Market.
