JIM Pearshouse of Halesowen called in at the Bugle offices after seeing Thomas Jones’s photographs of young National Servicemen of the Worcestershire Regiment during their tour of duty in Jamaica in 1958.
Jim also served with the Worcesters at that time and brought along his own pictures of those days.
The main picture shows the signal platoon of the 1st Battalion Worcestershire Regiment and Jim can be seen, wearing glasses, in the centre of the second row.

A second picture shows Jim and his mates larking about in the Jamaican sunshine.

The last picture was taken on the parade ground at Norton Barracks and shows the CO speaking to Jim. The officer’s attention was drawn by Jim’s appearing on parade, wearing broken glasses, due to a collision on the stairs with a comrade carrying a rifle.
