THERE’S little doubt that our Black Country ancestors knew how to turn on the style when they walked down the aisle, and here on the right is another fine exanple of the fashions that were in vogue in Edwardian times.
This stylish young couple tied the knot way back in 1904, and the young lady’s eye-catching hat and flowing bouquet are matched by her dapper young man, in his smart bowler and three piece suit, complete of course with a discreet button-hole.
This photograph, again from the Dianne Pye collection, was taken by A. Hill, at his Art Studio, 96 Worcester Street, Stourbridge. Fortunately, we know the precise date, for written on the back is: “Wedding photo of my parents, 1st February 1904”. But there are no names. So if any readers can recognise this smart young couple as their grandparents, or great grandparents maybe, then please let us know
