Last week we published a photograph of James Rudler’s saddlery business in Bilston Street, Wolverhampton (established in 1830).
This week, here are some more Wolverhampton images from the same collection, taken from postcards of early last century, and all sent to a member of the Rudler family (Bert Rudler) when serving in the 1914/18 war. The messages written on the postcards give an interesting insight into some of the scenes.
(We are indebted to Mrs D. Steadman for the loan of these postcards).
The message on the back of the postcard, sent to Gnr B.C. Rudler 156615 RFA , A Battery, 172 Brigade, Egypt, reads: “Of course you dont remember this do you Bert? Thought I would just jog your memory a bit. Love Cis”.
