WE were the focus of national attention last Saturday, when the Olympic Torch Relay made its way from Walsall to Wolverhampton, then on to the Black Country Living Museum, before continuing on into Sandwell.
The Museum was packed to the rafters to see Ross Ensor bring the torch into the Dudley Canal Trust. Dennis Sanders then carried the flame on the narrowboat and up to the tram, and Kate MacFarlane, originally from Johannesburg, was the torch bearer on the tram and then up to the War Memorial, where Rosemary Porter carried it out of the Museum and on to Tipton Road.
South African Kate MacFarlane (above) took the Black Country to heart, and is seen pictured with a copy of the Bugle, helping her to learn more about our unique region.
