A READER Down Under wonders if anyone can provide information about a distant ancestor who was given the timepiece shown over 150 years ago.....
“Your readers may be able to help.
“Henry Plunkett was a Solicitor in West Bromwich and Oldbury and died on the 19th June 1861 in his office in High Street, West Bromwich.
“Does anyone have a suggestion as to where he may have been buried? Hi seligion was Prostestant/Church of England: also in 1860 he was presented with a beautiful clock attached with an inscription that read "Presented to Henry Plunkett Esq. by the Magistrates Manufacturers and Inhabitants of Oldbury as a testamonial in recognition of his able and successful services in preventing the removal of the County Court from Oldbury August 1860."
“Thank you”.
