THIS photo shows staff and students of Wednesbury School of Photography in July, 1964, sent to us by Mike Tunnicliffe of Walsall, who writes... “ One student, Terry Pearce, paid the local rag and bone man to borrow his horse and cart. The Head of Department's office was emptied and the horse installed early in the morning. The look on the face of Jim Fraser, the Head, was unforgetable but he took it in good heart and was responsible for taking the photo.
“The people are: holding the horse is Di Deadman, sitting on the horse are Angela Wilcox (lecturer) and Penny Harrison. Standing on the cart are, left to right, David Powell (from Wrexham), Jean Williamson (from Wellington), Les Wall (lecturer), Dave Raper (from Shrewsbury), Peter ?, and lastly me (from Stoke).
“At the front of the cart is: in a white lab. coat - Kath Jones (senior technician), and a junior technician, in glasses Tim Hunt (from Stone), behind him is Jackie Peacock (from Oxford), Terry Pearce (from Stoke) and Colin Walker, in glasses (from Sheffield). The suave chap standing at the end is Peter Howe (lecturer).
“Behind the wall is the Walsall Road”.
