Oldbury girls about to leave school at the tender age of 14

IN this day and age, of course, it would be unheard of for children to leave school at the age of fourteen, and start full-time work, but, as the older generation know, this is exactly what teenagers did sixty and more years ago.

These charming girls, at Albright School, Popes Lane, Oldbury, were as case in point. They were fourteen years old, in their final year at school, and about to leave to start work.
