Man held over 'bomb' under car
A man has been arrested after a suspicious device was found underneath a car in a village.
Police were called to Coltishall Road in Buxton, Norfolk, at about 11am on Sunday after a resident found the suspected bomb underneath a car parked outside.
Six homes were evacuated and a 100-metre cordon was put in place as bomb disposal experts removed the device.
Residents sought shelter in the village hall where they were offered cups of tea. They were allowed to return to their homes at 8.30pm.
Officers said they believe the device targeted a "particular individual" and did not pose any "ongoing risk" to the wider community.
One resident said: "This is a bit worrying. I'm not aware of any dispute and the whole village is wondering why this person has been singled out."
A 49-year-old man from Norwich was arrested and is in police custody, where he will be questioned under the Explosives Act.
A police spokesman said: "Initial examination indicated the object was safe to remove and it has subsequently been transferred to a forensic laboratory for further examination.
"It has not yet been established whether or not the device was capable of causing harm."
