Hingleys visiting card and table of chain cables

THIS is quite an aged item, brought to us by reader Trevor Smith, and which pretty much speaks for itself. It's a 'visiting card' thought to date from about 1890, from that most famous of local firms Noah Hingley and Sons.

The front of the card.
The front of the card.

On the front it explains what Hingleys were famous for, and lists the Blast Furnaces and Iron Works at Netherton (near Dudley), the Cradley Chain Works (near Stourbridge), and an address at George's Dock in Liverpool, which we assume was a company office at the port.

The reverse side is an exhaustive table of chain cables and anchors, which would allow potential customers to calculate exactly what to order for their vessel.
