Several weeks ago an article sent in by Roy Langford included a picture of the Blue Coat School netball team (1950/51) which inspired the title ‘Warm smiles, a legacy of happy childhood days of yore’, and shortly after publication Valerie Horton, one of only two of the netball players we were able to name in the photograph, contacted us with further details. She told us: "I've managed to fill in most of the blanks for the girl's names, so here goes. On the back row, left to right, there is Dorothy Green and Shirley Day, and at the front, left to right the first girl sadly I can't remember, but then there's Yvonne Evans, Patricia Sibley, myself and a girl named Barbara on the end, but her surname escapes me. It's been a great many years since we were together in the team, and it was sad to read about the death of Pat Reynolds (nee Sibley) in the article. But if any of the other girls are still about and read this appeal, it would be terrific to have a reunion or just talk about those good old days.
