THE Hadley family were surprised when they put up Black Country flags in their home to be asked by their neighbours: "What are you protesting against?"

Mrs Patricia Hadley, of 10 Brandon Road, Hurst Green, Halesowen, said: "My daughter explained to them what the flags were for, and they said they hadn't heard of Black Country Day. But now they knew they would try and get some flags."

Patricia praised The Bugle saying: "Thank you so much also for pointing out the right way for the flag to be put up, as both mine and my daughter's were on the pole the wrong way when bought."

She added: "I enjoy reading The Bugle, I have it every week."
