ON page 3 of the Bugle Annual 2014 a photo of a pub was shown and the following question was asked. "Was this The Waterloo in Brierley Hill?

When the original article was published in May 2012 we were contacted by reader Les Shepherd of Stourbridge who thought it was the Waterloo in Mill Street, Brierley Hill. However, Keith Wheeler of Stourbridge has come forward to clarify the situation and brought with him to Bugle House a photograph of the real Waterloo Inn.

He told us, "In the past my family had links with the Waterloo Inn in Mill Street, and a photo handed down through the generations shows my uncle Harry Guttridge's mom and dad in the doorway, and a rather dour chap staring through the pub window. We think he may have been a local miner, judging by his soiled face."

However, just three weeks ago, in Bugle 1110, Peter Hill of West Bromwich suggested the mystery pub was the Royal Oak in Bannister Lane, Cradley Heath.
