OVER the past few months it has been very interesting reading the First World War World stories in The Bugle.

We have organised an event at Brisnall Hall Academy in Warley on Saturday, June 21 which might be of interest to Bugle readers.

Entitled Thank Them for today for our tomorrow it is a combined show of 1940s tribute and The Rat Pack, a back to back evening full of fast paced humour and toe tapping songs from a bygone era. Both of these shows are touring Britain and are performing together for one night only featuring U.K. No. 1 Vera Lynn tribute artist Lorrie Brown and Tony Martin No. 1 European Frank Sinatra.

We are raising money with ticket sales for Help For Heroes, and a local lad Owen Streatham who recently had a heart attack at the age of 10 years old and who is raising money for British Heart Foundation and Birmingham Children's Hospital. We are also donating to restore old war graves. The event is fancy dress on the war theme. Bring your own rations and bootleg. Doors open at 6pm, shows start at 7pm in the main hall.

Tony Martin.
