I THOUGHT Bugle readers would be interested to know that Matalan Stores in the Black Country are celebrating after raising £7,350.41 for the NSPCC over the last year.

The popular clothes and homeware retailer has raised an impressive £669,942.43 across the UK since April last year and stores in Bilston, Oldbury, Smethwick and Merry Hill helped raise an astounding £7,350.41 towards the total.

As well as donations from customers, staff fundraising has contributed considerably towards the grand total with Matalan employees taking part in activities ranging from running events to fancy dress days in order to raise vital funds for the charity.

The remarkable amount collected by Matalan marks the 10th anniversary of their fundraising for the NSPCC with more than £5 million raised since their partnership began in 2004.
