A RESTORED transporter rail truck made in Tipton will be on public show for the first time this weekend.

The National Coal Board "Manrider" for transporting men underground, built by Allen's and restored from a rusty wreck, will be one of the railway attractions at the Amerton Summer Steam Gala this Saturday (June 14) and Sunday (June 15) from 11am-5pm at Amerton Farm on the Stafford to Uttoxeter road by Amerton Farm, postcode ST18 0LA.

The railway, run entirely by volunteers, is a charity aiming to preserve the history of narrow gauge railways in Staffordshire.
