Gerald hanrahan, publicity officer at the Black Country Memories Club based in Bilston, has brought to our attention news of the next meeting to be held at Bilston Town Hall on Wednesday, 2nd October when A History of Beatties will be presented by Billy Howe.
Gerald said, “Billy Howe is a mine of information when it comes to the famous Wolverhampton store of Beatties and I’m sure those who attend the meeting will be entertained by the many facts, figures and stories he has to offer.
“The doors open at 12 noon, non-members pay £1 at the door, and refreshments will be available.
“But of course, the shopping experience of old wasn’t all about Beatties and I will be giving a brief talk in general about the shops of Bilston.
“If Bugle readers have any photographs of old Bilston shops, we would be delighted to add them to our exhibition of pictures. Either bring them along on the day, or send them to Bugle House. All pictures received will be scanned and returned; thanks in anticipation.” For more information about the Black Country Members Club log on at www.blackcountrymemories.org.uk, email email@example.com or contact Mr Hanrahan on 01902 455988.
