WITH reference to an article in The Black Country Bugle (January 29 edition) concerning the Spon Lane Domino League.
The article inferred that ladies played in the league during the 1960s.
As the present secretary of the league, having taken over this position from my father Bill after he passed away in 1991, I feel I must make the position clear with regard to lady players in the competition.
My father was secretary from 1962 having taken over from Tom McMahon.
During the time Tom and Bill were secretaries, ladies were not allowed to play in the league.
This rule was changed to allow lady players during the 1990s when I had become secretary.
I hope you will publish this correction.
