IN answer to the question on the front page of The Bugle (April 3 edition) whether Jack Brown at 105 is the oldest man in the Black Country.
Your readers may be interested to know that we have a member at Stourbridge Institute Social club who is 106. His name is Jack Jones, and he is a resident at Tudor Manor Care Home in Stourbridge.
Following a request to join the Club we were pleased to give him a complimentary membership earlier this year.
Apart from anything else, he is the oldest member we have, and is certainly the oldest new member we are ever likely to have. As an aside, we did have a member a few years ago who enjoyed over 80 years of continuous membership, having joined in 1918. This year is our 180th anniversary year, having been founded in 1834.
